Newman residents and organisations pitched in to help green up Train Park last week with almost 70 new plants now proudly bordering the park. The community planting day was part of the East Newman Activation Project to enhance communal spaces that can serve as a central hub for the community.
It was wonderful to see people and organisations volunteer their time to make this such an enjoyable and rewarding event, with many promising to check in and care for their plants over the coming months and years and watch them grow.
A huge thank you to the following organisations that made this possible:Shire of East Pilbara; Dick Tracey Contracting; Foodbank; Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service; Department of Communities; Pilbara Regiment; Froggy Services; Pilbara Community Legal Services; and Newman community members.
