Newman’s first Innovation Family Day offers a range of fun and educational activities for adults and children.
The event will be held in both gyms at the Newman Recreation Centre on February 22 from 9am to 4pm.
The range of activities includes a coding and video game design challenge for children, 3D video game development, virtual reality, 3D printing, Lego robotics, Minecraft zone, augmented reality for kids, digital animation and green screens, and stop motion animation.
The first 250 children through the door will receive a complimentary stem kit to take home!
Firetech, Monadelphous and BHP’s Innovation Mine at Eastern Ridge are among the businesses taking part, with more to be confirmed.
The family day is run under an innovation partnership between BHP and the Newman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Chamber Business Development Manager Tania Tucker said the event would be incorporated in the wider Welcome to Newman event and offered a great day out for the whole family.
