Satellite technology is helping protect Martu people living in the remote Western Desert communities from COVID by enabling them to safely stay on Country.
The new state-of-the-art digital infrastructure, funded by BHP and supported by Newman Futures and Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service in response to the pandemic, means Martu people in these communities can now attend medical appointments via telehealth, without the need to travel thousands of kilometres to Perth or Newman.
