Newman youth disengaged with education can now participate in a Certificate I in Leadership (Sports Focus) as a pathway back to education, training or employment. Delivered by Vocational Training Services, funded by the Department of Education and supported by the Shire of East Pilbara the program provides students with academic, social and emotional support.
The program commenced in July 2019 and has seen positive engagement from previous disengaged Year 11 and 12 students. Student numbers are expected to continue to grow.
